Amélie Mauresmo

Amélie Mauresmo is a former WTA number 1 ranked player. She reached the top ranking twice, in 2004 and in 2006. Amélie Mauresmo is the French women’s tennis player with the biggest record of achievements:

  • -25 Singles titles
  • -2 Grand Slam: Australian Open (2006) and Wimbledon (2006)
  • -1 Fed Cup (2003)

She officially announced her retirement from professional tennis on December 3, 2009, ending a career of ten years.

 

Ilie Năstase

Ilie Nastase is a Romanian former professional tennis player, one of the world's top players of the 1970s. Năstase was the World No. 1 tennis player between 1973 and 1974. He is one of the five players in history to win more than 100 ATP professional titles (57 singles and 45 in doubles).
Năstase won seven Grand Slam titles: two in singles, three in men's doubles, and two in mixed doubles. He also won four ATP World Tour Finals championships.

Considered one of the most gifted tennis players in history, Ilie Năstase was noted both for his sorcery with the racket and his ability to entertain spectators with his antics. Even during a crucial phase of a match, he was likely to do something bizarre that would entertain the crowd.

Ilie Nastase was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1991.
